Msheireb Museums has opened art exhibition “Memory of the Earth” in collaboration with artist Bashir Mohammed, Al-Markhiya Gallery and Qatar Charity, in a collective initiative aimed at preserving and reviving the Palestinian cultural heritage and supporting humanitarian causes. at Bin Jelmood House and will be held from January 22 to February 28, 2025.
Held at Bin Jelmood ,Msheireb Museums in Tunisia, Algeria and Syria will feature a work representing a month of the year in a visual narrative that showcases scenes from traditional Palestinian life.
The diverse paintings mimic folk songs and embroidery to scenes of vibrant souks and heritage architecture.
The works also embody the resilience of the Palestinian people, with each work telling a story that connects the past and the present. Mr.
Abdulla Al Naama, Director General of Msheireb Museums, underlined Msheireb Museums’ ongoing commitment to promoting cultural dialogue.
He said: “In the wake of the exhibition ‘Children of Gaza’, which has received great international attention, the exhibition ‘Memory of the Earth’ comes to emphasize the need to preserve heritage and rebuild, calling for Institutions in all sectors to provide a platform for meaningful dialogue. This exhibition embodies the power of art in preserving heritage and cultural understanding, while celebrating the richness of Palestinian identity.
